🌱 The Beginning (1988)

The legacy of Pushpvihar Sarbojanin Durga Puja began in 1988 at the Pushp Vihar ground, serving Sectors 3, 4, and 5. It started as a humble celebration rooted in devotion and strong community spirit.

🔀 A Turning Point (2002)

In 2002, the original Puja branched into three separate celebrations. One of them evolved into what we now know as Pushpvihar Sarbojanin Durga Puja, relocating to Sector 7 — its current home.

👥 The Torchbearers

The journey was shaped by passionate individuals:

  • Mr. J K Dhar
  • Mr. S Das
  • Mr. Arup Banerjee
  • Mr. Timir Mohapatra

Many more members joined in the mid-2000s, strengthening the community and expanding the celebration.

🪔 Years of Simplicity (Till 2010)

For many years, the Puja maintained a simple and intimate character, deeply rooted in tradition and close-knit community bonding.

🎨 The Transformation (2015)

In 2015, a landmark transformation took place with the introduction of:

  • Theme-based pandals
  • Artistic idols
  • Grander celebration scale

This marked the beginning of a new creative era.

🏆 A Cultural Landmark Today

Today, Pushp Vihar Durga Puja is recognized as one of the most awarded Pujas in Delhi NCR, known for its unique themes and captivating installations.

What began as a modest community effort has grown into a cultural beacon — celebrating art, devotion, and togetherness.
